Mike Chapman.....bass player

About

One thing every hit song needs is a great bass player.  All producers and artists know that the bottom end has got to be a solid foundation to build on or everything else is shaky.  That's why they call Mike Chapman.

Mike grew up in Athens, AL playing in local bands and eventually migrating a few miles east to nearby Huntsville, AL where dues were paid playing in nightclubs 6 nights a week, 5 sets a night for the biggest part of a decade.  Ambition prodded him to head a little ways west to the studios of Muscle Shoals, AL where he started a career as a recording session musician. There he worked with singer/songwriters who took their talents north to Nashville and they in turn brought Mike along to play bass for them in that Tennessee town.  Mike eventually settled in the area and his workload began to increase exponentially.  Soon he and his bass were being heard on the radio on hit after hit.  Fast forward to today...with over 30 #1 singles and over 160 million albums sold...he's still at it.

Along the way, he's been awarded the prestigious Alabama Music Hall Of Fame 2003 Musician's Award, won the 1993 Music Row magazine's Bass Player of The Year, played on Grammy winning records, and earned many more accolades.  Mike has had the pleasure of playing bass on every Garth Brooks country music studio album.  The RIAA certified that Garth was the biggest selling artist of the 20th century and the biggest selling single artist of all time.

Wherever you are in the world...if you want to come to Nashville to record with Mike...or if you want to email tracks to Mike and have him overdub his bass on it...get started by sending him an email via this website.
